EVERYONE in the market for a change in career should seriously consider contacting a Career Counselor or a Career Coach.  We all ask ourselves questions, how did I end up in this job?  Why am I there?  Where can I go?  What are my options?

Career Coaches are experts at assessing your situation, your career assets and liabilities and determining where you are now.   They can help you find out what it is you really would love to do.  How do you get there?  What are your impediments and how can they be overcome?

Everyone thinks they can manage their own careers, but if that's true how come 80% of all people in the workforce hate their job?  They see no growth, they don't feel secure and they are truly unhappy in the execution of the thing they do most in their waking hours throughout their whole lives.

We in the career business have heard it countless times, "I don't need anyone's help, I can do my own resume.  I know what I want to do, I'll just buy the newspaper and check the classifieds."

If they want to search for jobs in the pools with the most competitors and a resume which doesn't reflect their best impression, then that is their choice.

People will often fool themselves while continuing in a pattern of inaction.  If people could lose weight by themselves, there'd be no Weight Watchers or Jenny Craig.  They could quit smoking without help from the patch.  There'd be no math tutors or financial planners, the list of experts goes on and on.

Is it very likely that anyone could go back to school thus getting the best education while financing it with the cheapest costs and attain their dream job, all without help from the experts?  If you think a Career Coach is too expensive, how much does it cost to make less money than you are worth with fewer benefits, to be unhappy and unsure of your future?  There are many really good Career Coaches and Career Counselors out there, but there are also charlatans with little or no credentials so be wary.  One firm we highly recommend is Promising Futures Inc.   They have on staff career professionals with masters level education and above up to doctorate, they have nationally certified career counselors and graduates of Corporate Coach University.  Their prices are very reasonable and you won't find better credentialed or more helpful career experts on the east coast.
